Rechelle Lawson

Contemporary Collage Artist

Born in Darwin but raised in New Zealand and Western Australia, Rechelle settled in Tumut in 2003. Raising her four children with her husband on their Little River property, Rechelle appreciates the stunning landscapes of the Snowy Valleys that draws talented artists to the region, particularly in Autumn.

Rechelle is a collage artist and finds this medium produces artworks that are a great conversation piece to have in the gallery. She has completed works on Ned Kelly titled ‘The Unpardoned’ and the Dog on the Tuckerbox aptly named ‘Don’t Get Your Bullocks Bogged!’ Currently on her working easel at the moment is a life sized collage of Ned Kelly. Miles Franklin collage materials are being collected for her next in line project.

Rechelle loves to get on the tools and is not afraid to work on curating and decorating the space at Plane Tree Gallery and in her other business with co-owners The Cotton Merchants. She is rather partial to wallpapering and guards her Milwaukee tools with a passion.
