Key destination for regional fine art
Welcome to our gallery
Founded by three local women artists, the Plane Tree Gallery is a collaborative space in the heart of Tumut, NSW, dedicated to showcasing the work of local and regional creatives. Just steps from cafés, accommodation, and other local businesses, the gallery offers a modern setting for exhibitions across a range of mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, woodwork, jewellery, and textiles. The founders also run The Cotton Merchants next door, where their shared vision to support and celebrate the creative community first began.

ARTIST IN FOCUS
Lillian Sturt
Local Award-winning artist Lillian Sturt captures a sense of art in all things through her realistic representations of historical landmarks in the area. Her work reflects a deeper appreciation of what we leave behind for future generations and the beauty that exists only when we slow down enough to observe fully. Although most known for her detailed charcoal portraits her signature style continues to evolve, leaning into the surreal, with vivid colours that capture a deeper sense of the magic that exists in all things. Her work is an invitation to slow down, observe and appreciate the beauty in the details that often go overlooked.
