Phil Green PSM
Phil Green is a wildlife and wilderness fine art photographer based in Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory.
Known to his friends as Philbo, he has been taking photos in the wild places of Australia, New Zealand and Africa since the 1980s. After retiring as the ACT’s longest-serving Electoral Commissioner in 2017, Phil jumped headfirst into the world of digital photography and all it can offer the wildlife photographer.
He has been awarded several printed and digital “image of the year” and “portfolio of the year” awards by the Canberra Photographic Society. In the 2025 Australian Photographic Prize competition he was awarded one silver with distinction, two silvers, and several highly commended awards in the wildlife and landscape categories.
Phil is currently convenor of the Australian National Botanic Gardens Friends’ Photographic Group. Many of his latest photos feature the colourful and exotic flora and fauna of Australia’s stunning national botanic gardens.
Phil strives to create photos that are works of art, featuring wild creatures and places in all their natural beauty.
