Lisa Sanderson

Lisa Sanderson is a stained-glass artist based in Tumut, specialising in Copper Foil Technique. With a Fine Art Diploma majoring in Photography and Ceramics, she has always been drawn to art and different mediums.  In her high school years she was introduced to the wonderful world of stained glass through her mum.  Many years later, living in Perth, she decided to take up this beautiful craft again.

She loves creating stained glass intricate panels, sun catchers, plant stakes and three-dimensional glass creations like bespoke houses and cacti using the copper foil method.  The copper foil method—also known as the Tiffany method—is a stained-glass technique where each piece of glass is cut, ground and wrapped in thin copper tape, then soldered together.

Although she is inspired by botanicals and Australian native fauna and flora Lisa enjoys creating in a variety of themes.  She also dabbles in a bit of leadlight work which is the traditional way of making stained glass panels using strips of lead (called came) to hold the glass pieces together.
