Needlework has been a part of my life since I was taught to cross stitch at 10. After years of doing my own pieces, and inheriting various works from family, I ran out of wall space to hang everything! So, in 2021 I set to teaching myself other styles of embroidery with the goal of being able to share my hand stitched creations with others.

Expanding my repertoire has lead me to explore creating my own designs and living in Tumut for over a decade has given me plenty of inspiration. Between our distinct seasons, rolling hills, local flora and sparkling waterways I am never short of an idea.

Part of the journey has included putting myself out there by entering into competitions and I have been thrilled to win places at not only our local Tumut Show, but also the Royal Sydney Easter Show and the Tumut Art Society's Annual Show.

The most valuable thing I have learnt is that you don't have to try to make everything 'bigger and better'. By giving attention to the fine details, and using quality materials, you can turn a modest concept into something exceptionally elegant. Nothing too fussy, simple is best.
